Uganda | Week One
On the 7th of June, I found myself on the way to the airport to meet the strangers that I was to spend every waking hour with for the next three weeks. Little did I know, this would be one of the most amazing trips of my life.
It's hard to express how beautiful of a country Uganda is without you seeing it with your own eyes. Fortunately for you, I packed up as many cameras as I could fit into my backpack and off I went! I filmed as much as I could (when I remembered to) and finally got round to editing a mini series.
So here it is, our first week out in Uganda!
Today, I'm taking you through our day out in Kew Gardens. From the beautiful conservatories to why the water-lily pond was less than ideal, here is a no-nonsense guide to visiting this gorgeous UNESCO World Heritage Site if you're sort of into cool plants and definitely into walking around wistfully amongst trees.
I was in a creative rut, so I did what any rational human being would do and I booked a less than 24 hour trip to Dublin! Read all about our adventure, what to do, where to go, and why it mattered.
Astrid takes over the blog today, with reasons for why you should volunteer abroad! There are so many organisations to help you plan and prepare you for a volunteer trip, so why should you choose this form of travel over a resort holiday?
Every year since we've been in the UK, George and I have trekked to London for some Christmas cheer at Winter Wonderland. We lucked out with an empty Wonderland so here is a lil’ photoset!
We spent a morning kayaking across the Algarvian coast.
What we ate when we visited Florence's Il Mercato Centrale Firenze! From pizza and pasta to cannelloni and everything in between.
