Describe yourself like an Instagram/Twitter bio:

I live for flat whites, flights and fashion between HK, London and LA.

What do you do?

I'm a student, studying in the UK. I use instagram as a creative outlet where I share and document my life.

How and why did you start?

At the start, I had a personal instagram, just for fun. I shared posts with the intention of my friends seeing and interacting with them. Soon enough, I began to regularly receive comments about how my feed was β€˜goals’ or that people thought that my photos were from influencers or bloggers. I began to want to improve the content that I posted, in terms of quality and quantity. Rather than the occasional post whenever I felt like it, I found interesting things in my daily life and utilised these moments, items and places to be able to constantly create content that people enjoy seeing and engaging with. Being able to connect with such interesting people was the main reason that I continued my instagram. Soon enough I settled into a routine and was doing it for fun but I met a friend who helped me develop my instagram into a brand so I could delve into the world of influencers and bloggers. Through this, I began to collaborate with brands and reach a wider audience.

What are you currently working on/what should we be looking forward to?

Currently, I am creating a blog which should be up at the start of July. I don't have any specific plans for my instagram, just to continue what I'm doing now and find more brands that I love and feel match my audience.

What's your advice for people who want to get started?

If you don't choose to do something that you genuinely love, you won't find as much joy in succeeding and it'll be harder to persevere. On instagram, there is no sure way to grow your following but if you're creating high quality content that people want to see, you will find your audience. No matter how small your niche is, if your personal brand resonates through, you have something unique and worth sharing.

Lastly, shamelessly plug yourself!

You can find me on instagram @sophiefuji. For now, that's my main social network but if you have any questions or just want to say hi, feel free to send me a dm.
