Happy December! I think I speak for us all when I say thank god this year is coming to an end. If I had to sum up 2016 in one word I think it would have to be unrest. Political unrest, social unrest, a third unrest that is equally distressing. (Cut me some slack, I too am suffering from unrest, it is however the sleep kind and not the distressed kind). As I look back over the past 11 months and realise that I have come both incredibly far and not far at all, I think it's fitting to set some last minute goals for this month, as well as take a look back at the last one. After all, one of the best ways to move forward is to learn from your mistakes, no?
Yeah it was pretty fucking dope. I had a good November. Achieved a whole bunch of stuff that I am not allowed to talk about at the current moment but I will definitely be screaming it from the rooftops as soon as I'm given the thumbs up! To keep this section short and sweet, as they say in The Lego Movie, everything is awesome.
I tried! I tried really hard to be consistent and I found that it was working... sort of. Through figuring out how to use my Bullet Journal effectively and then figuring out how to use it to be a better blogger, I managed to create some kind of list of things to write about, when to write them and when to post them. It worked for a while and then university kind of got in the way. However, to move forward you have to make mistakes, so hopefully this month will be a lot better and more consistent.
Cool New Things
There isn't really a better title for this section other than cool new things, because November really was filled with me starting and finishing a myriad of cool things. From publicity for The Cherry Orchard to fundraising through a Society6 page, I feel like I'm finally on track to leading the life I want. Other cool new things include:
- Finally writing down my recipes (coming soon!)
- Accepting that gaming is a perfect way for me to destress (I mean I always knew but felt like I was wasting my time sometimes)
- Getting better at Photoshop
- Learning a lot about licensing for commercial use (ah the joys of publicity and blogging)
Keep up the streak of good vibes, all the time. Also take more aesthetic pictures. I think for December I also want to spend more time with my friends and family. It's the first time in a long time that I'm feeling Christmassy so I better capitalise on it while I can.
There's not really much else to say other than that. The super precise goal will be to post 3 times a week, with the weekly newsletter going out on Sundays. That's not too tough of a goal at all I don't think. But we shall see how I go. By the end of this month there should be a lot more content up here.
Cool (New) Things
Step up my fundraising game as well as my photography game. They're not too shabby at the minute but they can both get a lot better. Other goals for this month will be
- Go to the gym at least one time
- Wrap all my presents before Christmas Eve (last year was definitely not a fun time)
- Write actual heart-felt Christmas cards
- Give all the gifts that I said I would but never got around to giving
- Eat less cheese
Writing this almost a week into December probably isn't exactly the best way to stick to the goal of "be more consistent" but from this point forward I will be. I feel like I'm finding my voice on here a little bit more too so that's a good start. Anyway, that's all from me today folks! Until next time.
P.S If you're down to share your own goals, leave a little comment below. I need inspiration for next month and also confirmation that my page views come people other than myself.
